This weekend I am headed to our nations capital from t'up north (Chester) I am traveling with 2 friends and as such the Elise is not the chosen vehicle for this trip, the mrs has kindly donated her 07 plate Civic 2.2 TD (with fuel paid by her company) for the trip.

The only catch with this scenario is we live 30 mins north of Chester (where I work) and she works 30 mins north of our house (Oldham) so it made sense for me to take her motor to work and dive straight into my south bound journey after work. Here comes the catch, she needs a car and the only one available is my P&J.

We had agreed this 6 weeks ago but its sods law that when the weekend rolled round the weather for our area is shocking. (Our Local Weather, click click)

She always said that she was looking forward to borrowing it when the weather was dry.

I don’t know how to feel. I am on edge but at the same time I do trust her and she is a competent driver. Lets see what mother nature has to add to this situation later today. I believe the feeling is related to the fact that it is not me driving the vehicle rather than someone specific (in this situation my mrs)

So who is on your policy?

My other half wont touch my Elise, she hates it, she likes comfortable, quiet, smooth, luxury cars too much.

She is insured on it, and I've no problem if she wanted to, so technically could drive it, but I get the feeling she'd rather get the bus.

My missus would not want to drive it. Nor would I want her to. Within this mutual agreement we co-habit peacefully.

My wife has driven ours for the last 8 years without upset, but took my RS4 out yesterday and dented it!

I wouldn't take mine out if the weather is really bad, I find them deadly when there is not much grip!

The Mrs is insured (for cost reduction purposes wink) but she's not driving it.

I let a good friend drive it a while back and he really enjoyed it.

It's only a car FFS.... Most aren't even that scary to drive either, where is the problem?

My wife loves driving it and does so on many an occasion, I have also let a mate share it on a track day and will be again come May... If he bends it, he mends it...

My other half drives it [with lotus booster seat in place so she can reach the peddles].

Also, close mates who have group 20 cars; other liz drivers, tvr's, fezza's get to drive it because I get to drive theirs.

I'm on my wifes policy for our Lotus smile we both drive it equally. As long as your other half is insured I don't see any problem

Nobody. Quite a few friends have expressed an interest but i'm far too posessive to let anyone but myself drive her. Even the wife has yet to have a go tongue out

Mrs T has driven mine for about 100 yards complaining that she couldn't reach the pedals, the gearchange was awful, etc, etc. That was a while ago mind, and she recently saw a piccy of the booster seat and has said she wouldn't mind having a go on trackyikes
Her brother is keen to have a play on track too - my only worry with him is that he'd probably kill the tyres in pretty short order as he spends a lot of his spare time rallying his Subaru. Mrs T's father might well get a surprise 73rd birthday present of a trackday in my car too.
So I'm a lot less precious than I used to be with her but I think everyone else is reluctant to drive her in case they hurt her!!

Well said that man - if Women were meant to drive fast sports cars, someone would have given them an enoooooormous penis and balls of steel....................Just like us bandit

Mine has been in my Exige once for about 10 mins as a passenger (the girlfriend not my enoooooormous penis) and now refuses to look at, talk about or even acknowledge the existence of my car - just like my motorbike...result party

My missus drives my Exige quite regularly. Even uses it for work occasionally.

But, (and it's a big but), she did learn to drive in her Dads Fezza, took her test (at 17) in a Porka 968, and... AND... AND... got a better report than me at the Castle Combe driving school!!!!
