Had to travel from Bournemouth to Manchester last night, and ended up stuck on the A34 since they decided to shut it

Thank god I got the new seats in - sooo much comfier than the old S1 ones - the missus didnt even complain once!

oh, and back roads round Chesterfield in the dark and with a slight snow are much fun biggrin

I've done about 8 hours or more of driving in the standard Elise seats and ... well ... it was a bit uncomfortable by the end of the journey, but my pelvis was still intact! wink I've been looking around for replacement seats for awhile. I'm quite interested in the Sport 160 seats, as they have a relatively similar design to the standard seats. Which did you go for? 111S, Sport 160, Corbeau?

I got mine retrimmed & probaxed recently, it makes it so much nicer & no longer have any back pain at all now. Definitely worth spending £700 on doing.

it's not the seats, it's the roads that make for an uncomfortable journey.

I failry regularly do long journeys in my car. Plymouth - Hethel - Plymouth in a day is the longest on the original seats. I've replaced the originals with S1 111S seats which make longer journeys more comfy for my backside.
Bedford - Plymouth after a day on track feels like you've been in the car forever!

Lotus Trim shop are the people top talk to about Probax seats and lots of other trim options for your car.

Drove home to Poole from near Inverness, stopping only for food and a pee. No problem. Well there was a slight problem, it's a car park called the M8, you get to sit and stare at Glasgow for hours.

Liverpool to Le Mans is my furthest trip, about 600 odd miles. Not too bad as you stop on the ferry, but still feels like a long way.

Once a year is enough for me.

After driving to Italy this year through France and Switzerland for 2 weeks avoiding all motorways and seeing NO traffic what so ever, we were stuck in our Exige for 13 hours for the final trip to home in Exeter from Rhiems thanks to the M25 closed, M20 closed, 14mile tailbacks, no diversion signs once off the M/way and a broken Sat Nav. leaving for England at midnight this year and if this happens again Im emigrating and taking up French nationality!!!!

Went with the Sport 160 ones in the end - much more comfortable than the standard ones, plus they go with the new interior I'm sorting out

for me the clap s got to anyone who does 600+ miles a day.
I love driving this kind of distance in the Elise, you become properly connected to the car by the end. The simplicity and directness of the Elise will, I think, deliver 'being at one' better than almost any other car.

Hi Guys, i've got s1 seats in my TVR. Just wondering if anyone has had the base and lower back repadded and what could be done? The padding is pretty poor in the base.
