hi Guys
I've not driven my Elise since before xmass and assumed that the battery would be flat so charged it up over the weekend and then stuck it back in my S2. I can set the alarm although the indicators flash in a fairly lethargic way and when I turn the key I get some lights on inside and stuff and a bit of a clicking sound but the engine doesn’t even turn over. Do you think the battery is just knackered or is it something more worrying?

Thanks in advance

Mark

Battery, if you let them go completely flat, then they knacker real quick (same in any car, my last one did it very well). If you're not going to be using it, best to disconnect and preferably connect to a battery conditioner - You may still be able to get away with that, get a conditioner and hook it up.

Thanks guys. I stuck a new battery in last night and it jumped into action. I'll make sure I take better care of it if I leave it again. I will be using it regularly again though so it should be ok.

Thanks Again

Mark

As LaVida suggests, get a battery conditioner if you can - it'll keep it in good shape in case you can't use it so regularly thumbup

so can you not condition the battery when its on the car?

isn't there an issue with the alarm/tracker if you remove the battery?

If you have a garage where you can plug the conditioner in, and get it to reach the battery in-situ, then it's fine. No need to remove.
