Happy as Larry
Discussion
Just got my car back after having the heater resistor pack and an ABS sensor done without paying a penny - must have been nearly a grand's worth of work.
Lotus approved warranty (the one you get when you buy a 2nd hand car from a main dealer) actually coughed up, and not long before it expires as well. They drilled the drain holes under the heater for free as well. I'm surprised by how powerful the heater actually is when it is working properly - it's proper toasty and cosy in there now.
Anyway, two questions:
1. The drain holes should help to prolong the life of the resistor pack, but is there any point in say covering the front grilles with a big chamois when I wash it to stop water getting down there? I almost never drive it in the rain so the only water getting in is from washing. Is there any other way of preventing the heater from failing again?
2. Seen as these cars seem to end up in the garage fairly often, I presume that you can buy the sort of warranty I just claimed on, after the one I got with the car runs out? Any idea how much they cost or which company is the best (most likely to avoid wriggling out of paying for stuff)?
Thanks

These S1 owners expend so much time taking off/ putting on their roofs, trying to squeeze in/ out of their cars and worrying about HGF and their weight (limp wrist alert
) that they don't have time to acquaint themselves with basic expressions...
Saves weight doesn't it? Not having to carry round any knowledge
