IMO i can't see them refreshing the Elise/Exige range until after the Esprit. And even then I think it will be only small changes to perhaps bring the cars in line with new styling cues from the new cars.

With all the "limited editions" they are throwing out at the moment, I think Lotus well know that the Elise/Exige platform could do with a refresh, but it's not realistically going to happen with the Eagle project and the Esprit (supposedly) project running. To be honest though, other than a styling update, I don't see what they'd do right now, as they've played around with power already - and TBH, I think the S2 styling is fantastic, not dated all that much (Although I do love how the S1 Exige looks).
There's absolutely no way that there will be an S3 exige / elise in the near future. Lotus are concentrating on the Eagle project and then Espirit replacement and they simply do not have the capital or resources to look at the elise platform at the same time. I'm sure thats why we are seeing a host of 'limited' editions and the elise SC - its just to try and blow new life into a platform that is practicallly pensionable now! I would think there will be tweaks over the next couple of years and then depending on how the Eagle / Espirit goes, maybe a re-engineering of the platform.
