Bunch of t*ssers but hey, "thats kids" furious

I suspect all you can do is dismantle the whole lot and replace bits care of you local dealer. At least if the paint isn't damaged that will save a lot of agro.

sorry to say but this is a big job !

you have to remove the door itself to take the mirror off ! that means removing all the window mechanism etc. Mine has just gone through bodyshop for repair and they had to take the mirrors of and the mechanic told me you have to take the door off to get to the bolts at the back which is a right pain !

Expect a bigger bill than you would imagine.

I damaged my mirror last year.

Of the two prongs, only one has a screw that secures it to the mirror base. If you take the black sticker off you can undo the screw and remove the mirror.

You will need a Number 2 pozi drive right angled cranked screwdriver. You can buy a set from Halfrauds. It is not difficult, just really time consuming and fiddly, because you can only turn the screwdriver a quarter of a turn each time. I would imagine you will then be able to remove the broken plastic prongs and fit a new mirror.

The mirror is a Metro one wit the locating prong cut down, you can purchase a new one from Elise Parts. As for the black sticker, I was given two FOC by my local Lotus Dealer Lipscombs.

Yes, using the right angled screwdriver it's fiddly but you can take them on and off without taking the door off.

Mine got wobbly and flew off on the M25 in the summer. I ordered a second hand rover metro one in almost the same colour on Ebay. It was an internally adjustable one (which leaves you with a middle prong you dont need) you saw that off. The two plastic alignment prongs were longer in a metro than the lotus but again you just saw them shorter and it'll fit a treat.
