Thinking of selling my S2. Where is the best place to get a valuation? I am going to try sell her privately. Its a 111R, 2005, solar yellow, 12000 miles, black alloys, touring pack.

Look at cars already advertised with similar spec, price accordingly.

I doubt you'll get that to be honest. You'd pay that price at a main dealer, if not less TBH (Having bought one with 1/3rd the miles, for not much more 5 months ago from a main dealer)

A dealer has just offered me £25,250.00 for mine which is a 57 plate with 1000 miles on it if that helps.

I think the R is the best in the range at the moment (for me anyway) still wish I'd kept my previous R

Can you explain why the R is better the the Exige S for you, surely the Exige is better with all that power lower down the rev range making it easier for road use!!!

I've owned 2 R's and for the road/run's couple of track day's I'd say that the R win's hand's down, it feel's a little more like a hand made car where the Exige is a total track day tool. Don't get me wrong I love our Exige S but I'm not sure it's worth the money unless your going to do plenty of track days, have you looked at the Elise SC? Driven a couple now and have been blown away by the usability of the car, stonking!. I'm not saying don't buy the Exige but buy it with your eye's open to the fact that really it's a track day car, tyres every 5-6k if you use A048's, no rear visibility, plenty of speeding. It's just so bloody easy to drive to fast

I wouldn't go back to an R now as I've already owned two but if the Eagle isn't up to much may be the Elise SC, not making any decision's for a couple of year's and I've got some track day's to do and also a few more upgrades to our Exige. Did think about switching to Porsche but just can't do it!

Having just sold an NA Honda'd Elise which is quicker than an Exige S, the main reason I can think of for not getting an Exige S OR an Elise SC, is that you simply can't use enough of the power of the car on the road unless you want to drive well above the speed limit and/or by driving to a point where you will be close to a very big accident if you get *it* wrong.

The lower powered cars allow the average driver to use more of the car, more of the time. On and off the road.

Having said that, you can still get illegal very quickly in an R once the 2nd cam kicks in. Especially around here now they are dropping NSLs to 50 - flat NSLs where you can see what's coming for about a mile, barstewards.

Hi guys, had my second drive in a SC today and have to agree with Boggy, stonking real world power and front end planted feeling is a revelation. Also had my first drive in a 111R and loved that as well that second cam is fun! I currently drive S2 111s and found the Toyota lump smoother and quicker overall.

I actually prefer SC delivery to having to rev nuts off less powerful/torquey car, possible because I drive a turbo diesel as everyday car and like that instant response.

Love the Exige to look at been tempted many times, but love top off flexibility even better! and the SC is a special car ticking most boxes....DRIVE ONE

In fact I am ordering one on monday.

Happy days
