Lotus HG for K-series
Discussion
Was after a bit of advice. I need the head gasket replacing on my K-series rover, but the garage say that they use a double layer Lotus head gasket.
The guys on the Rover forum don't appear to have heard of this, so I was wondering if there is such thing, and if its a huge improvement on the original HG. The other option is a multi layer Land Rover HG, but how does this compare to the Lotus HG?
Thanks in advance.

Not too sure about the gasket but there are two things that should be checked if the problem isn't going to reccur. First is the hardness of the head. Some K series heads are known to suffer from porosity. The other is the cylinder liner heights.
There may be something in the Seloc archives re the best type of gasket.
