My short-tail hardtop (lotus) fits fine, only that the back of it doesn't sit flush with the rollbar, it sits higher by about 5mm in the the middle. The rubber seal looks fine and is in the right position. No obstruction under roof. All bolts nice and tight.

The front of the hardtop fits ok over the windscreen.

Any ideas? Is this usual? Cheers.

Mine is the same (albeit not by as much as 5mm, maybe 2mm). Seals fine though so I ignore it.

Mine is also slightly higher in the middle of the back area, although only by about 2mm, in fact you only notice if you look at it from the rear. No problems with leaks and didn't really try to play about with the installation to minimise this.

Forgot that AFAIK the later hard tops came with a central clamp to get over this "step" between the roof & the roll hoop cover. The earlier ones didn't.

Thanks all for the replies. The only thing I can think of that may have a factor is that I reglued the rollbar rubber trim a few months ago, presumably in the right place... on a slightly raised part of the rollbar which may explain things. Not sure that bit of trim can be glued elsewhere as it seems shaped to go there.

I rather doubt the rubber would be hard enough to push the roof out of shape even if you did put it in the wrong place. Not by 5mm anyway.
