Bloody cat, went out to my car this morning, cat just walking around it. Went to take the cover off and where it's ripped at the front (thanks to idiot neighbour), bloody cat has scratched at the paint work, bloody typical, idiot neighbour doesn't damage the car much, but the cat sticks 8 deep scratches in to the paintwork.
Sounds like a job for the ka's evil twin...

Nothing I'd like more than to get a big dog to eat the cats, sadly it'd not be fair on the dog, no garden for it to run around it (car takes up space where we could have a garden) - and I couldn't be like my neighbours, letting it crap all over the shared drive-way (If it goes on much longer, I'll be posting it back to them).
On the plus side, it did make me go out and get a glue gun and fix my cover.

Ok, so it's nearly a 3 hr journey for you (but you love your lotus that much, right?
) but I'll make my standard invite: if you fancy hooning across to visit, happy to treat you to tea/coffee and some paintwork TLC (finessing out scratches isn't as tough as the detailers would like you to believe
)

To quote my brother "there's a cheap fix for that"
Came home the other Monday and a neighbour knocked on my door and said his cat was locked in our garage. We went and got it out but the entire roof was covered in white cat hair and all the crap that they groom out of themselves and the body had footprints all over it. Fortunately it didn't scratch anything though. Stupid cat, still I sort of got my own back knowing it was locked in there for 24hrs without food!
Nothing caused me more grief than cats, when a new Lotus owner. The only half solution was a cover....but the real, real problem is when they decide, and they will, to use the soft top as a nest.
I out run Linford Christie one morning when I saw the neighbour's cat on my new soft top....gearing itself up to sharpen its claws on the top!!!!
I was so angry it kept the cat away for a while....but then he came back, with his mates. I'm sure one cat had escaped from the local zoo - a bloody puma if ever there was one.
Bought a heavy duty cover...they ripped it to shreds one night, again trying to get to the roof.
Put pepper spray around the car....had a sneezing fit myself all the way to work.
Ultimate solution: I built a garage!

There are a number of things you can do;
Cayene pepper, rub some around the top. When the cat rests he will pick up a load on its coat and given the nature of cats, will try to clean it off. Very funny
Sonic pest repeller - also keeps the local chavs away.
If you are around to catch the cat in the act then keep a supersoaker in the fridge, fill it with the cheapest cola or lemonade possible. drench to little sod, he will spend the rest of the week trying to clean itself.
A cat once tried to attack my fathers Macaw. We only knew because we found 5 inches of bloody tail and the macaw was sulking.. different story.

The slightly antisocial method is to turn up the ultrasonic alarm sensitivity. Worked for me... I saw the cat jump up on the car and the alarm cut in immediately, the cat literally bounced off, it looked like someone had pressed reverse on a video player. It never did it again. Note if Mrs Spunagain is reading, our cat does not go on the roof and this was before we moved in together.....
