I've been driving the barge during the storms of the last few days, and leaving the Elise tucked up at home. I got in the Elise this morning and the battery was almost flat. Once it started though it refused to idle below 2,000rpm; which made the driving into work a bit weird (my high gearing means that to make it through a 30 limit in tracffic I needed second gear to avoid getting pushed into the car in front!). Is this normal? I presume it needs an ECU reset. It's a 111S with a VVC K series.

I started the car this lunchtime and it seems to have sorted itself out! I'll see how the drive home goes.

Just for the record the drive home was pretty tricky. The engine stopped as soon as I took my foot off the throttle - the idle had completely vanished.

I got the car home, straight into the garage and plugged it into a trickle charger overnight. It's fine today!

Perhaps you need to reset the throttle pot. Mobile. Turn the key to position two (dash lights on). Press the throttle seven or eight times using full movement. Then switch off for a minute or two. Try it then and see if it's improved.

Throttle pot?!!! Not in one of my cars! wink

It's all sorted now, it just seems the battery needed more charge in it.

I guess S2s don't have throttle position sensors then. Doh!

Rob - mines always flat as a pancacke when I get back from work (four weeks away at a time). I started it while it was on the limit once and it did all sorts of weird things. Once trickle charged overnight it goes fine though.

yes That's exactly my experience. It's been running fine all weekend now it's got charge in the battery. One to remember!
