Welcome to the fold! biggrin Expect your fuel bills to increase dramatically and your promptness to drop considerably, as you choose the long route for every future journey ... These cars are very addictive! Have fun and watch out in the wet ... Hopefully see you at one of the meets. I see you're in the SW. Last year (and I'm hoping this year) SELOC arranged a meet down in Weston-Super-Mare - It was fantastic, with planned hoons through Cheddar Gorge thumbup

Congrats, particularly in seeing the light from your previous wheels! you're not alone. A good friend of mine sold a 996 carrera he owned from new for an Exige. He still has the Exige and has no regrets about the swap. I've a Tuscan myself but am looking to get hold of an Elise too.

These type of cars are the future. They are the purest cars out there for driving pleasure and huge fun under 100mph unlike so many fast heavy cars.

There was nothing wrong with the 996 - it was a damn fine car...

The Elise is, well, something completley different - a much more involving experience - and while it has similar performance, as you say, its a lot more fun at legal speeds!

Ditto to that - I swapped out of a 997S to an Exige S and after the initial culture shock of the first few weeks, I haven't looked back.

I will take the Lotus out for a blast, as I do with the motorbike, just to put miles in and have a hoot - never did that with the Porker, it was just a very nice, fast car.
