Anyone know any decent car insurers? I am being quoted a grand or more for my annual policy which is more than last year.

Autotorque 0161 278 5226.

Had both my previous Lotus insured with them and found them very good. Will use them when i get my next one too.

Mine was about £600 although i could only do 5000 miles a year, it was insured under a classic car policy. Bear in mind though that i come from the land of the car robber so the quote was actually quite good.

Another thumbs up for Autotorque! Insured on a Classic policy - £340! Track days and modifications are no problem at all. However, this is a limited mileage policy gaining no NCB. If you're insuring as a daily driver, you might need to look elsewhere!

Adrian Flux are worth a call. My S1 is costing about £390 with full NCB and 10k miles. Lives on a driveway and has a few modifications. A lot seems to depend on postcodes and how much patience you have playing one quote off against another. Good luck.

I have tried everyone, Adrian Flux is coming out cheapest so far at &850. I don't know why its so high, others are £1000 + or most want me to fit a tracker. I tried Autotorque, more than a grand. I am 29, with a 111R 2004, one SP30 in 2006, no claims, no criminal activity and work as a doc. Why are they so bloodie expensive!

Another thumbs up for CCI I've just been quoted £740 with 4 trackdays covered, on a 2005 111r 26yrs old. My Aplan renewal quote was £940 without the track day cover!

Adrian flux have quoted me 539 for s2 111s with sports exhaust, 30, 6 points & seloc member.

Always helps to add elderly parents to policy as well! Knocks a few quid off.

CCi sounds good - I like the track day cover... does this also include the ring or not?

Another for CCi, my last renewal shot up to nearly £700 and they quoted me with 4 track days at £388, 34, limited to 5k per year.

Chris Knott have now got mine down to £485 with all the mods! Very happy with that, considering now on 6 points as well. If you're a member of seloc they will beat any quote by 10% (providing you have proof).

A-plan seemed to have dropped the ball of late, wanted nearly 700 quid!
