Anyone changed there dipped beam front bulbs, if so is it easy enough. Handbook suggests its 3 wing bolts in the wheel arch holding the unit in place, so can it be done with wheel on for example.

Also whilst I've got to replace one (deed) was going to upgrade both while I'm on to the Philips Blue Vision. Seems to be the brightest legal bulb on the market - any opinions on these?

Thanks in advance

ps sorry for the typo in the title, I do realise theres should be theirs. doh.

Sean.

Hi,

You should not need to take the wheel off, just put it on full lock and you should have enough room to undo the bolts (with a hex key I think). It should only take a few minutes as long as you don't make the same mistake as me and undo the three nuts nearby them instead rolleyes

I hope this helps,

Carl

It is far easier with the wheel off, it took me 4 hours but thats another story involving garage keys in garage with locked super secure garage door and a sledgehammer biggrin

Jack the car up, to give more space in the arches, but dont bother taking the wheel off, no need. then there are 3 nuts holding the light case on IIRC

Don't waste your time with just normal bulbs, get yourself a HID kit. There's literally night and day difference between HIDs and even the brightest "normal" bulbs.

I always remove the wheel to change the bulbs, just makes the job easier and you can have a good look around and check pad/disk wear. I have never been keen on those Philips bulbs, seem over priced for what little difference they actually offer, also it may look odd if you only run them on one side.

The main problem with the liz is that it's so low it struggles to get a good projection on the road.

HID fitment is no small or cheap job but would totally agree with the results. The difference is night and day. It's a must upgrade for the spirited night driver.

I hope I have shone some light on the problem. wink
