so I booked my first track day at anglesey over 2 months ago, during that time I was slightly getting pissed off with the power of my 135r on the road and considering a swap for a noble.
So I stayed in the hotel the night before last and drove nervously to the track yesterday morning, after a quick brew and the briefing I was pulling my helmet on for the first time ever.
The feeling when you pull on to the track for the first time is amazing and after 4 laps felt myself warming into it... grrreeeat ! woo !
then the instructor jumped in and showed me that I knew all of nothing and proceeded to teach me what an elise really could do (with me still driving) I'll tell you what, taking a long tight bend, touching the apex and using full throttle through, almost touching the grass on exit without having to slow, just using the throttle to push you round, a midges dick from annihilation is muckin fagic !!

It'll be a long long while before a power upgrade is needed!
If you've never tracked your elise, just do it! its one of the best experiences ever, and only now after a year of ownership do I understand the thrill of using the car 'properly'

do it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thumbup First time is always the best wink

not done a TD for ages but did manage a *serious* 180+ drift today on a roundabout ie. more than half way round (not a 180 spin!).

If I can get the exhaust to a decent level maybe I'll see you on track this summer.

My wife did the Anglesey novice TD yesterday (Azure Blue S1 111S) and had a brilliant time with a friend sharing the drive. She had been on a Td there with me a couple of weeks ago but it was the first time we had seen the new circuit and the weather was a bit inclement at times and she didn't do to many laps then. I just checked the trip meter and she got in over a 100 miles yesterday which is what its all about biggrin

Hi glad you had a great day, the Loti is designed for it and shows it true worth on the track, people shouldnt feel as though the odd track day is trashing it. I have tracked both my Esprits and it loves it. I often think it runs better after giving it some welly biggrin

I know what you mean I spent ages looking for a low milage, one owner, non-tracked example, but knowing what I know now I'd probably go for one that has been lightly tracked, well serviced and looked after !wink

Yep - that's the one smile with the distinctive bits of foam to stop the rollbar cover being scratched!

Well done chaps... as you found out, it doesn't matter what yur level of experience is, in your first couple of laps you'll realise that it what your Lotus was created for and your apprehension quickly disappears.

IMO every Elise/Exige owner should take their car on track at least once

And after that they'd probably do it again and again.

Totally agree, other than the first track day being the best, although mine was at a very greasy Goodwood.

I'm now totally addicted and only lack of spare holiday for the weekday track days and money prevent me doing more. I will manage between 6 and 8 this year but the gap between seems way too much frown
