BoLOCs to a quick run before Brekkie (wiv Essex LOC)
Discussion
Ok Captain Grinnders here. I've come up with a cunning plan... a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.
Whilst on a parallel thread regarding the Essex LOC visit I was contemplating breakfasting with them but then I thought.. Hey Grinnders, do I want to pootle my car a mile or so for brekkie to park it up before the Stack even registers heat in the engine.... or do I want to give my car a thorough thrashing around some twisty bits and then feel like I've deserved breakfast ?
Well, I prefer the latter. So I thought a run out to Swanage (the long way) and find some roads that have "no name" may be fun, taking the short cut across the ferry home to meet the Essex lot for Breakfast at 10.
Ok.. so I've had a play with Google maps and dragged the route around a bit to create more bends. Not sure if this is THE Burger Run (and obviously it wouldn't start at my house) but this may be an interesting distraction BEFORE breakfast and then get the chain ferry back from Swanage ?

If someone has the actual burger run and thinks it's better than this please let me know. Alternatively if some Burger regular wants to lead the charge I'm more than happy for that too.
Weather forecast could be a bit of everything.. although I don't think snow is forecast two weekends in a row.
AND YES... IT IS THIS SUNDAY - APRIL 13th
Any interest ?

I'm up for an early run. You have part of the burger run but you are turning off prematurely at creech, we normally go on to the view point over Tynham to regroup, then down to rejoin your route via steeple. At Corfe we go over to the Studland road and enter Swanage by the back passage. The Langton mattravers Kingston road is done on the way home stopping at the Smiths Arms.

Ok.... well I hadn't planned going the long way home and without the burger is there much point of going into Swanage ? Does that road have sufficient interest factor ? HTH
How about something more like this then ?In Ewan Macgregor style this is
Bournemouth to Sandbanks - "The Long Way Round"

The route isn't set hard and fast (or perhaps it is... see what I did there ???
) anyway, what I mean is I'm open to suggestions on route. Is it long enough ? Twisty enough ? Without going back more or less the way we came, although fine if others want to go that way. It could start at the Pavillion (0815?) with a rendezvous at Poole Quay (0830?) and then loop around the harbour to the chain ferry back for Brekkie ?
Thoughts ?
Sadly I love the (or this) Lotus owners perversity for not choosing the easy route... reflects our choice of vehicle perfectly methinks
