That i believe is a common problem is the bloody radio reception, it is absolutely appalling.
Didnt have that problem in either of my previous two Lotus. Any suggestions on how i can improve this other than sell the car (got there first Kevin, Livinlavida etc etc)??

haha, to be honest once i figured out how to switch the thing off i did. I really dont like the Blaupunkt stereo that comes with the car. It took me 20 minutes to find out where the CD goes and the buttons are so bloody small that its trial and error whenever i press one.I will probably end up upgrading the stereo system.

Ive only left the radio in there so there's no hole in the dash.

Hurricane and stage 2 + tunnels is all you need to hear. wink

I've heard this aswell? Is it true? My radio seems to get worse when my lights are switched on..

Is there something near to the lights themselves that i need to look for?

Must say, I hardly ever use the radio in mine. The Apple connector on the head unit is so handy, I just plug my i-pod in and listen to the tracks on there.

SNAP mate, altho to be fair the radio reception on my car is much better than I expected, going from the regular bashing this gets on the forums.

I usually just hook up my iPod and put it on shuffle!

yes I can only pick up the local radio station in mine! And that's fuzzy. No Radio 4, Radio 1 etc. I just listen to CDs when I'm driving, but it'd be nice to be able to listen to Radio 4 whilst I'm parked up eating my lunch or whatever.

What's this about foil?!

I get great reception, still I stick the HIDs on, then there's no chance.

To get to it, passenger side wheel off, wheel-arch liner out (it's dead simple), you'll see it attached to the underside of the clam, thin little wire.

The aerial? Mine's stuck to the bootlid! Still get no reception.

Well, the older whip doesn't work either, so at least the lines of your newer cars are cleaner smile

Get some copper tape and cover the inside of the bootlid with it making sure that the ground from the ariel has a good connection to the conductive part of the tape.

Regarding the lights: switching the lights ON on my S1 significantly IMPROVES reception!!
Most of the time I can get a very listenable signal for all the main Beeb stations although I tend to listen to WAV files burnt to CD.
