Great looking car mate, bet your lad finds it easier to get in and out of than most of the rest of us lol.
to right. Parked close to the garage wall one day (got an exercise mat stuck to the wall to catch the door) with the roof on and I thought that I had dis-located my hip getting out.Mine has 33k on the clock and I use it everyday. Alot say they are a nightmare to drive evryday in SVA form but I've never had a problem and I really like that lumpyness...loads of character. Had a fair few Lotus and this is one of the best.
I'll take any excuse to post a pic -

Out of interest have you done the Zymol or do you get someone in to do it...was thinking of getting this done. Is it expensive and is it worth it?

Did the Zymol myself. Got a meguires clay kit first to smooth the paint out a bit and then got the Zymol full kit with concours glaze. Cost £240. That was as much as I was prepared to pay for a wax. Some cost more than the car almost. Used the HD first and then put a couple of layers of wax on. Have topped the wax up a couple of times since. The shine is fantastic. Repels water like you would not believe. I think it is well worth the money. The wax should last for ages. Surprising how little you need. Really nice stuff to work with. Only problem I can think of is that you look a bit dodgy massaging your car with your bare hands. Best done at night I think.
I love the SVA. When you start it up the sound and you lumpy tick over is fantastic. When I take someone out for the first time in it I make sure they get in it in the garage. When it starts all of the colour drains from their face. In the garage it sounds like the god of thunder. Does run a bit rough at low engine speeds, but low engine speed is for girls. It's refreshing to find a relatively modern car that does not run perfectly like every other car on the market. Some of the cars that I ran when I was younger you had to stop with the handbrake so that you could work the clutch and keep the engine running. 160 is luxury. I think that people who criticise it are missing the point. Any mods to make it run smoother are like pulling your rotwieler's teeth out.

i remember when i went to pick up the frog from those coke-snorting wastes-of-spaces at 'nightmare machines'... i was outside when they started it up... i thought they had started up a TVR without the exhaust on... when the frog rolled out through the doors looking all innocent in it's subtle scandal green paint and black wheels, it really was a shock to the senses.
