Very Nice >> http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/456726.htm

I plan to replace my S2 with a S1 160 within the next 12 months and if I was ready I would be all over this. Looks great.

Has anyone else gone from an S2 R to a S1 160? How do you find it? Where does your preference lay and why?

The main difference is that the 160 will be a toy where the R is my current daily hack as well as weekend tool. I plan to purchase something sensible for the commute and have the 160 in the garage waiting to be used the way it was intended.

It looks a great car, I think another PHer is off to view it tomorrow.

I see from your profile you have already got the daily hack. I rather like the Aygo but a Fiat 500 Abarth is also calling my name (a little wait till year end for that though)

Thanks for the link, I have a lot of reading round the subject to do as I am not that well educated when it comes to S1 ownership but I gather they are a hoot.

Aygo? Ours is the semi auto as the Mrs only has an automatic licence.

Positives:
1. Dirt cheap road tax (about the lowest CO2 in its class).
2. Totally anonymous, can park it anywhere without concern.
3. Must be one of the easiest cars to drive.
4. Performance is not too gutless considering its a 3-cylinder 1.0 engine, as long as you keep the revs up.

Negatives:
1. Steering is slow and pretty lifeless.
2. Feels rather vulnerable in crosswinds at speed (its tall and light).
3. You won't get anywher near to the claimed mpg figures if you want to keep up with the flow of traffic.

To sum up, its fine as an A to B / shopping car. If you want a measure of excitement in your daily hack, i'd advise looking elsewhere.

I ran a Ford Ka as a daily runner years ago. Great little motors IMO. Entertaining handling and nice sharp steering. Get a 2003-onwards model for the smoother, more powerful / economical 70PS engine.
