Sorry couldn't contain myself. New to the forum!! Hope you'll let me join the gang!!
have just placed the deposit on the car in my profile pic. managed to get in a sports exhaust and drop in price, so feel like I've done well. Is my first sports car.
Anyone know where I can get a full cover for a decent price? as sadly dont have the privelidge of garage space, but do have a drive way.
Any other advice please throw it at me.

I'd avoid an outside cover to be honest. Just clean it regularly with good products, and finish with a good quality wax. There's a helpful detailing forum on SELOC http://thisis.seloc.org if you need some tips.
Enjoy

Thanks for the replies so far!!
It was from Williams, do you find them good? the sales lady Paula was superb!
Didn't knock a lot off the price really, but all counts towards fuel and insurance (don't know why, but I don't like talking money), but got tax, sports exhaust, new radio, "gap cover", and a full tank, it also had installed a tracker and bluetooth handsfree whatsit and a speed camera alerter (to the sales lady and my suprise).
Its the standard elise (now with sports exhaust
) as its my first sports car, thought it best to not be too silly.
Keys hopefully in a couple of weeks!!
Am doing the "trawl for insurance" now.

The S1 is the original and, many would argue, the best Elise.
Very raw, light on its feet and ooooh soooo responsive.
Just be careful until you get used to it - it sounds like it will be a very different driving experience to anything you've had before. A very good idea is to get some driving traning in early. Carlimits is highly recommended.

Sorry, its the 120BHP base model, k series engine. Any comments? please dont tell me its a dud!!
Sure you'll absolutely love it!I picked up a 118bhp S1 almost a month ago, could perhaps do with a bit more top-end power, but really on the road you don't need it and you only really notice it as you close in on three figure speeds.

Welcome to the club. There's nothing to be sorry about - you'll have great fun in it irrespective of the BHP. You may even find it has more than you expect; as Bogie can confirm my S2 had 135 BHP at Emerald with the only mod a Janspeed exhaust.Just be very wary of scraping those sticky-out little lobes either side of the number plate on the front clam. They're easily caught, typically when there's a sharp dip such as you find at the kerbside when coming off a drive onto the road.
Thanks for the advice there Sharm, I was wondering about how I was going to get too and from the folks, as they live on a hill where there is a junction with a dip like what your speaking of, think I'll have to get the misses to get out and we'll work out way round it. Am guessing just go into it square on, and then turn after the front wheels are the other side. (Hope that makes sense)

I have had 5 Lotus from Williams and have never had a problem with them. If you have a look on Seloc South West regions you will see some mixed reaction about them, but since then they have changed the sales team and had a chap called Ian Street return who was the reason I purchased from them.
As you have said Paula is an asset to Williams with lots of enthusiasm for the mark. They have also dropped their service costs after feed back from customers on Seloc etc. So everything is going the right way.
If you up for it come and join some of the runs that are organised - Bristol and South Wales side - as they are alot of fun, plus a good way to meet like minded Lotus owners.
The Welsh arm of club Lotus meet the 2nd Thursday of the month in Cardiff it thats not too far away from you.
Anyway enjoy your car and hopefully see you around.
