Hi,

Going to have a look at a couple of 111's at the weekend. Just wondering if it is due for a service and cam belt change what would I be looking at cost wise?

Anyone know the best way or who I could ask to come and check a potential purchase out, look for things I may miss?

Insurance too - Anyone low mileage specialists? for a 26 yr old with 8 yrs no claims I was hoping to be under a grand!

Thanks in advance for any advise!

The cambelt service is a C service the A service is an oil & filter change and the B service is plugs oil filters etc
Try and find a local Lotus club im sure someone will offer to look at a car for you smile

Regarding insurance, I recommend giving Adrian Flux a call. I'm in a similar situation - 26, 7 years NCD, limited mileage - and was quoted a little over £400 for fully comprehensive with protected NCD.

Bloody Hell £400!! I was quoted £1600 by A Plan as I have never owned another car as high risk as an Elsie. Tesco Have just given me the Cheapest at £800! I must admit I thought I should be able to get cheaper...

I tried most of the main-stream insurers too and couldn't get much below £800 - specialists are the way to go in my opinion! I think Tesco also require you to have a tracker fitted.
