Am a bit p***ed off with self at moment.

Set off from lights behind queue of traffic, wet, 10yards down road realise that cars in front have stopped and I'm too late, lost concentration - hit breaks but shunted guy in front at walking pace. Very very lucky in that damage very minimal, hardly visible from front but closer inspection shows cracked/damaged f/glass up under the 'mouth' of the grill surround area. Probably not going to do anything about it, but out of interest any idea how much for a repair? and for a new front clam (might be worth while if was going to sell it)?

Agree it is unlikely you will need a front clam, but what you need to do now is keep your eye on the area, as many fibreglass cracks and splits don't show for a month or so. Spider webbing, I think they call it.

Problem is, if they damage does spread, you really will need to get it done as it sure as hell ain't gonna get better!

Hard to say how much it will cost - I was quoted 750-1200 pounds at the usual bodyshops for a front clam respray and slight damage repair, but found a bloke working from a barn shed who did it, quite excellently, for 300 quid. ( He is so drowned in business he'd rather I did not advertise him, sadly )

Another good tip is to take the car to boat repair shops, even surfer dude shops - these places know their stuff and may well offer great prices, especially if there is little dismantling involved.
