Hi all, fitted my headlamp covers last night and whilst they look good I'm not convinced by the quality.

They seem to be a slightly different shape to the clam, and yes I have put them on the right way!!

But the tape holding them on seems to be under a bit of stress. I'm paranoid about them coming off.

Has anyone else noticed this, or has anyone else had a cover come off?

Is it advisable to use a second method to stick them down, like clear silicone?

Thanks Nick

My old S1's covers didnt have any glue or tape, they were attached with two allen head screws which screwed into some metal thread linings that had been pushed into a small hole drilled in the clam. Seem to work really well and was great that I could remove them to clean easily. I havnt seen them being sold with that fixing method but I'm sure you could buy the allen screws and linings from somewhere.

Nick,

Are they designed for a standard S1 or are they copies of the ones fitted to the 111S?

The 111s has a recess in the clam specifically for the covers so if you were fitting them to a standard S1 (without the recess) I could imagine the fit not being so good.

If the fit isn't completely water tight, they will fog up like a bugger after rain / washing so you might be better to make them easliy removable.
