Came home early from the office. No one was in and there was no clients to talk to so had a delightful lunch and headed home. I had left some glasses at my bro-in-laws so thought I would swing past his place in Andover and see if I could pick them up. For dodging bank holiday traffic it is a good route.

Ended up on the '303 cruising towards his place in the outside lane. Ahead there was a car following a truck on the left hand side. As I approached there was no sigh he was looking to pull into the fast lane and overtake. No indicators, he wasnt looking in the mirrors, there was a good gap between him and the truck, no indication that he would move over so I continued.

I got within 20m, going faster than him and he just swung over. Mother hubbard! I slammed on the anchors and missed him by centimeters. I flashed my lights at the piece of distended rectum, held back and let him nurse his clapped out arsetra past the lorry at 1mph faster than the lorry. He eventually pulled in so I put my foot down and carried on with my journey. As I passed him he started the hand signals "W@nker".

I saw red, this id10t had done one of the most dangerous things I had ever seen let alone had inflicted upon me, I had painted an "11" at 90 leptons and I had refrained from getting nasty and I was a W'nker?

I braked and drew level - he wasnt expecting that. I pointed at the mirrors then at my eyes indicating that he has mirrors, why doesnt he use them? He was avoiding eye contact with the angry nutter. I lent on the horn untill he looked round, gave him the bird and left.

What a moron, you have to ask what his motivation was.

Anyway - I carried on, Sid didnt have my glasses so I decided some "B" road therapy was required and the sensible option for a bank holiday friday.

I wasnt expecting clear roads so wasnt surprised when I got stuck behind a taxi who was stuck behing a garbage lorry. I knew the road well so I relaxed, biding my time untill I got to the one and only overtake spot.

We got to the overtake spot and I sat behind the taxi making sure he didnt want to over take. 10 seconds and he didnt even look to see if the road was clear to overtake, benifit of the doubt, another 5 secs. Any longer and there wouldnt be enough straight for a safe manover. I overtook, as I drew level with his rear quater he started to pull out, I stuck my foot down and went past.

I slowed at the next village, there is a saw mill and kids so I was doing 20-25mph when the taxi comes screaming up behind me, giving me w@nker signs. Still pissy from the last ringworm, I slowed down and stopped in the middle of the road and shouted "what the hell is your problem?". He gets out and F's alot saying I'm his problem and he is going "to kick my head in". I explained if his fighting is anything like his driving, he might hurt himself. He got back in his car, my blood was really up by this point, how dare he! I shouted if he was still going to kick my head in and why not try you gutless, yellow chicken.

I drove off...

I have been fuming all the way home and had to have this little rant, make of it what you will. Dee Dee (My dog) has been sat on my lap while I write this making lots of "glad you are home" noises so with the cathartic action of writing this and first class puppy cuddles, I am in a far better mood.

In their heads you're the wr because you were travelling quickly, they fail to see that lack of observation can also cause accidents because they are morons who think provided they stick to speed limits they are doing nothing wrong. Simple as that.

6/10 for the rant - needed more swearing

They see a flash sporty car being driven faster than them, and they assume you're a nut case and its all your fault.

They're missing the point that their driving is at fault, after all, how could it be, they're driving normal cars at normal speed.

One of those days, I'm sure we all have them from time to time, pleased you're okay tho, subject to a few blood vessles probably popped.

LOL ...st happens dude...and st drivers are everywhere..just beware...like you are !

Im afraid the only advice I can give that works is to have the stereo on and a ciggie in your mouth, and let it all wash over you and relax and think of something nice smile

I drive around 30-35K miles a year on our motorways, at one time 80% of this was on the M25 frown ...now if I got myself worked up into a stew every time some incident of other peoples bad driving affected me, then I would have had to see my GP for blood pressure pills about 7 years ago ! ...on an avg day, doing say 150-200 miles the amount of dodgy stuff going on/inconsiderate drivers you would encounter was around 1-3 per day...I soon learnt not to let it wind me up, otherwise Id be in a foul mood permanentlywink

...to top it all off, Id pass say 20 different speed cameras in 200 miles, but never see a single real copper who could actually catch these people, so they could carry on as they liked......a sign of the times I think frown

just chill dude...its the weekend smile

A good rant I thought, really drew me in. I'll give you a 7/10 but again, you lose points for a lack of profanity.

Unfortunately, many of these people cannot see beyond the car you drive and assume anyone driving a car they wish they had is a w@nker.

Glad you're in a better mood now though smile

Nice rant old boy... but you only get 3/10 from me.

If you want a better score next time... we need the tale to include twinpiping round the taxi until he can't find his way out of the tyre smoke, the inevitable Gooby "conversation" with our friends in blue about an obscure point of road traffic law and a pic of the huuugggeee drink that you are now enjoying in a desperate attempt to float into the weekend!;)

Sir all that matter's is that you are the one in the right! Your a good man giving people a 2nd chance! I used to spend a lot of time Boxing, most of the guys I used to share the ring with would have stopped the Car dragged them out and we all know the result

No matter how much some prick gets under your skin, it's always best to just ride it out! Well up until the point anyone lays a hand on youthumbuppunch Some people just haven't learned the error of their ways

Wish I had a Dog, used to have one we called Skipper! He was classic

So whats the problem? Just sounds like a normal day on the road for me. It'l get worse later tonight when you want a slow easy drive and a bunch of nutters in Loti keep chasing you to go faster.

oops it's not tonight is it, sorry.

I have been learning to insult people from Arabs and Greeks. These guys know how to insult, it is brilliant. Far more interesting than the one dimensional "feck".

Thanks for the responces
