£33k for a 57 Exige S with every pack possible on it and receive £2k more than you paid for your own car in part exchange??
Is £33k over priced hence the £2k over allowance on "a friend of mines car"??

i know what you mean by "for Gods sake" my missus has just said the same but just had some really good career news and 5 minutes after that had a phone call from the dealership. Seems like fate......
It is the same car i was looking at when i bought the Sport Racer but the deal is much better trading the Sport Racer than it was trading the Saab. I have also been offered more for the Sport Racer than i paid for it although i do understand that it is all relative if the Exige S is over priced at £33k. I have looked at other similar aged but none have the same spec and it seems a decent price.
I probably wont rest until i buy an Exige S so i am very, very tempted. I have also got the track day/tuition type bug so in terms of worrying about killing myself in an Exige S at least i am doing something about that by learning to drive properly.
Another favourable point is that for some bizzarre reason the insurance is only £80 a year more wheras when i was going from the Saab it was over £4k. Cant figure that one out.
All in all, im in for a sleepless night as i have promised to make my decision tomorrow.

Is this the white S they have in stock?

I was down at CN again this evening as my MIL light came on again and had a quick look at the S's out front, they look great.

There is also a very nice Yellow Elise SC in the showroom which is gorgeous

The white one is sold and is being picked up tomorrow.I drove the Lazer Blue one and its power blew me away, just wasnt 100% keen on the colour. I prefer Aspen White, Chrome Orange or Soar Yellow.I am looking at the Solar Yellow one at Lipscomb.

CN had a maroon coloured one which look good but I am with you, an Exige should be in a vibrant colour

Its Canyon Red but doesnt have air con. I know nearly all of the cars that all of the Lotus dealers have for sale.smile
There are not many Exiges available at dealers at the moment even JCT are down to their last one, CN have only two, Ribble Valley have the Laser Blue that they have had for years and even Lipscomb have sold the Simon Cowell one that they have had for a while. You can tell the summer is coming...........

Nope, I wouldn't do it, £33k still has a fair bit of depreciating to do over the next 12-18 months. Stick with what you've got, learn to drive it faster than my Nan and have fun - if you're changing all the time, you're not out there driving it, you're too busy filling in V5s.

There is something odd about the Elise that differs from most cars. The more miles you put on them, the more you drive them, the better they feel. The engine loosens up, the suspension seems to "sing" with the road. Getting into a new car after mine feels "tight" or "stiff". It doesnt flow and hum with the road.

I have had more than my fair share of problems, the offer is there to get a supercharged liz, would I change? Nope.

The only Exige that felt right to me was a 240R

Don't buy it. There's a very nice Volvo convertible for sale, or perhaps consider a Chrysler 300C

No aircon? No wonder they're desperate for someone to buy it. Fine if you want it for track use but if it's mainly a road car far too hair-shirt.

I have to echo the above. I did not own my Elise from new but I am putting 50 miles a day on her and she just feels better and better.

Coming from a 306 to the Elise I have also enjoyed the way that my ability is constantly evolving. I have had no training (yet) but feel like I am learning how to drive safer and better with every mile.

I have no experience with the Exige and i would be fibbing if I said that I do not fancy it but for me the Elise is perfect.
