I just went outside to take the hardtop off and have become really pissed off with myself

Removed roof and leant against the wall while I put the soft top on before coming inside and a massive gust of wind caught the roof and scuttled it to the ground - not got a chunk missing from one of the tips and one from the front

Anyone know anywhere that can repair the fibreglass and repaint that isnt going to cost me the same as a new hard top?

Not an urgent job, but want to get it fixed...

cheers

Finally got round to getting a quote to get this damage repaired (I did say it wasnt urgent.....)

bear in mind there are 2 x 2cm chunks that need to be repaired...

£388 +VAT

Does that seem a little steep to anyone else??

Mega expensive.

I snapped one of the long bits off my old s1 hardtop, and I had it repaired cash in hand at a local bodyshop for £50. Couldnt tell it had been done. £388+vat is a joke.

If from Specialised then no, not expensive. If from numpties-are-us them yes. Specialised are expensive compared to many but, you are guaranteed they will do a better job than the factory.

The only part of my car left they have not painted is the roof and rear engine cover.

Thank God for insurance!!!

Ding!!
If specialised say it then it is 150% reliable. Anyone else, I start to question.
