People are so often winging and so infrequently praising on PH's, me included....so hear goes...

I dealt with Ben (L100NYY)about 2 months ago when I p/xed. Since then I have had one return visit to sort out a few niggles.

Castle lotus are without doubt the best garage I have ever dealt with. Ben handles the sales side very well and has a great knowledge of all things lotus (not easy with their option packs!). He is the only person I have dealt with who will always return your call and will happily spend an hour chatting to you about geek-ish details. Joe who runs a ship shape service shop, is true to his word, honest and will bend over backwards to help (and no not like thatwink).

Well done guys.

A really refreshing and encouraging experience, and I am looking forwards to dealing with you guys again!

so again many thanks from one pleased customer.

ps I thought I would attach a few pics of my new toy. Sorry they are all close ups but the location was poo. I hope you like.

Although I actually bought through Ben's colleague when he was at Wilson's, I did chat to Ben and yes, he seemed like a top guy. yes

This may explain why I have difficulty understanding what people mean when they say Lotus need to sort out their dealerships before trying to offer a higher priced car to the market - The only dealership I've had longer term experience with is Castle Lotus so I thought they were all that good!

we always used to use Castle when we lived down South for Sarahs TVR's over the years - we soon built a relationship as she was in there every 3 months for a service and their best service customer !wink not many other people did 25-30K a year in a TVR.

Anyway, the service was always great, fairly priced with no surprises...in fact the only surprises were when theyd done something extra or not charged for something. I never had the pleasure of dealing with Ben, as we left about the same time he joined im afraid.

Rob, the old service manager left too...and went to Grange Aston Martin...a couple of months before I got my Vantage, he was surprised to see me and Sarah visit him there...great service again...in fact the tyres and oil were cheaper than my local Lotus dealer at the time !

It just goes to show there are good dealers out there, which is purely down the people that work there IMO - you get some good, enthusastic people, who understand people and service and it will be a success...I have been to other places with what I call 'cardboard cutout' staffwink ...An Audi dealer where I used to take my RS6 ..im sure their eyes used to light up as soon as I drove in and the bill was more than the Aston ever has been...they are so used to customers coughing up £400-500 to service a generic repmobile, if you can afford a £60K estate then you get stung each time...piss taking stuff like £18L for oil etc ....anyway, didnt go there again ...which is what they need to realise - customers vote with their feet

It dosent take long with an enthusiast brand like Lotus, for the word to spread on good/bad customer service etc...in fact I would go to say that some of the best specialists around have built their businesses on word of mouth/internet, so thats what youve got to do - investigate where to go first, and then vote with your feetwink

Hi Will, I’m not surprised you miss your old car. Early indications do indeed confirm that it is a particularly good example.
I’m sure that the arrival of your new car will soften the blow, it sounds like an eye watering specification.

It really does say something about the whole lotus ownership experience, when not only am I in contact with the previous owners of my current car but I have also been in contact with the current owner of my previous car!
