Hi guys,

I know this is probably a bit of a long shot but does anyone have a luggage rack for an S1 Elise moldering away at the back of they're garage?

I want to take the car and my wife to the Lotus 60th anniversary, but she has walking difficulties and uses a mobility scooter (Think old lady in "Benidorm" TV show).
It only weighs 25kg and I believe the racks can carry that much.

I just can't justify £400 for a new one for one weekend.

Other suggestions very welcome indeed, I'll have to take a Ford Cougar otherwise.....
Thanks.

I hope you don't take offence at this but please, if you get hold of a rack and manage to strap an invalid carriage to the back of an Elise, you've got to post a photo.

Guys, If anyone has a luggage rack, please lend it to him. I've seen mountain bikes, lengths of 2x4, 4 wheels with tyres and an Elise with an Audi sitting on top but this I've got to see.

Higgy,
Thank you SO much, I'll be in touch...

Noodleman,
I suppose it will look a bit surreal so no offence taken.

If you want me to get really strange, I've a life size (i.e. 6' 6'') "Sully" from the movie "Monsters Inc" I could stick on the car somehow for you.....
I'm sure he would love the wind in his fur.

Had another idea, bit of lateral thinking coupled with the Lotus ethos of having one part do two jobs, thinking of getting a spare boot lid and just fixing a couple of bars to mount the scooter on.

Found a scrap boot lid for £176, much cheaper than a luggage rack, but still a tad pricey though.

Sully driving with the carriage on the back would be ace!

Hope you get it sorted.
