Hi all,

Maybe someone can help.

We have done the kits installations on: a Exige S 2007 (220ch) and a Exige S 2008 (240ch).
The cars have approximatly 2000 km and the job has been done (and well done) by the Ostende Lotus Dealer Thierry Verhiest.

After 6000€ the result is:

The 2007 S 220ch become on the Dyno (SuperFlow Win Dyn): EceTrq 265.6 Chp at 8386.6 Rpm
and EceTrq: 228.2 CNm at 7925.5 Rpm.
This is not really fantastic but it seems to be better than Stock Ecu (for 6000€...)

The big issue comes with the 2008 S240ch:

The result with the 2008 is: EcePower: 222.9 Chp at 7801.7 Rpm (stock 240ch)
and EceTrq: 218.9 CNm. at 5609.7 Rpm.

On both cars, the Traction control in "ON" and when you want to disable it, at the first drift, it will be "on" again and you'll be on the wall...
It has been tested on the drift track in Visé "Belgium".

I don't talk about the two gearboxes broken due to Komotec parts...

Well the lack of performance seems to be a Komotec Ecu Progaming issue but they are far in Germany and it seems they don't want to move from there...

Good luck for those you would like to by something from them.

John.

I appreciate that English may not be your first language, but exactly what "help" are you hoping to get here?

If you're just looking to name and shame, take it somewhere else...

yeah, im afraid most people on here will be customers rather than installers, so its going to be difficult to get much real help...I dont even know what the Komotec kit consists of !

is it a different supercharger?, a remap too?

Ok, sorry for my English.

I though someone may have experienced this before but as i can see, you are not interested with that kind of post.

Sorry about that,

Good luck,

Shame to hear this since the few Komotec installations that I've read on Seloc appear to be pretty impressive. I've assumed that the installer was not a Komotec agent and simply fitted the kit that you supplied?

You don't go on to say how or why the komotec kit caused problems with the gearboxes?

For the PP car I assume that if you ran the standard ecu for the time being the extra komotec chargecooler will help with heat soak issues at the very least and allow you to turn off the traction control.

Having said all that, it's no fun having a toy which once modded is worse than it was before and I guess that with a new car and a wedge of cash most people are likely to want the comfort of having such issues resolved both quickly and conveniently ... or take the kit off and get your money back.

Go to Komotec or ask them by mail?

Also Komotec gives a warranty on their stuff, so its your installer you have to go to I guess.

Also the LSD can be set in different stages by the 2008 model see the switch on the steering kolom?

so maybe you have to play with that? or ask Lotus how that program works...

Thank's for your answers guys.

The gearbox problem was due to the weakness of the Close ratio final drive 5,0:1 provided by Komo-tec but it is solved now.

WE all know that it is a Komo-Tec Ecu programing issue but the only solution given by them is to come to Germany with the two cars and they will try to find something.
(How and when, we don't know and who will pay for that....?)

We did the 100 miles race like this at the Nurburgring one month ago, we should race at Spa next week and the problem is still the same...That's why i try to find a solution by myself. ;o)

I've heard of heaps of ECU problems with Komotec cars as well (MY06 or newer). A friend of mine who drives one of these cars has his car go into emergency programm on a regular basis. Dangerous and not fun. Good luck on getting it resolved.
