Hadn't used the car for a few days and when I pulled away this morning the pads were firmly stuck to the discs. I did pull away gently, even so there's some nasty brake judder now. After a drive it seems a bit less now than before. So will this resolve itself in time or should I get someone to look at it? Thanks.

go out and do some heavy braking 50-30mph to warm them, then 30-0 a few times...that should clear the crap off them

This happens on any car tbh. It's just that the elise is so light and gives feedback about everything that you notice it.

Best thing to do is just trail the brake for a little while. Very very lightly though. And do some loonnnng braking up to turnings. That will clean the worst of it off then just go about warming them up as you normally do.

On the servo brake cars it is less of a problem because the pedal has about 30x less feel anyway.

Had you washed it or had there been heavy rain before you put it away?

Yep. Last time I used it it had rained, then it went into the garage for a week. Also had the handbrake on very tight which probably didn't help.

The clunking from the brakes was unbelievable, I'd really thought I'd damaged something! It was like driving over rumble strips. It's much better now but it's still there and probably will be for sometime.

Had the same thing myself. Just take the car out for a good long run, drive with your foot lightly on the brake for a few miles, then do a few hard stops. Leave the car in gear with the handbrake off when you park up afterwards, it'll be fine.

I've forgotten that my car even has a handbrake.
