That looks brilliant. You will really love the Elise and as soon as you get to grips with the second cam you will never want to get out the car.

I could do with some suppot and you are the best man to do it. I have today done the exact opposite of what you did, I put a deposit down on a 05 plate Cooper S because 2 weeks ago my partner wrote my 111R off close to home and I could do with some advice telling me the Cooper S is going to be ok. I would have got a new 111R but the insurance is now pointlessly high!

You wont regret it, the old shape S is a lovely raw little car. The chasis is superb, I used to switch the ignition on and the traction off every time, even in the wet. It inspires confidence, and gives you 3 minute warnings of oversteer & understeer. You really have to be an idiot to crash a Cooper, Im not even sure its possible. But long journeys are hard work, and after 8 years of minis, time was right for a change. You'll be happy to have bought a car so entertaining, yet you'll miss the I'm gonna die any minute feeling of the Liz, no doubt. AS for reliabitly, you'll be stunned at how tuff & refined that little car is. Oh and be prepared for a spanking at the pumps!

In my experience you will find the R very reliable. The only small error I had was a unidentified misfire which was instantly diagnosed and sorted by a main dealer quickly.

I will miss the Elise badly and hope to get a sport 160 or Exige as a second car in the next 12 months.

Thanks for the info and enjoy the Elise

yes Good man. Once you've got a Sport 160 you won't give a sh*t about the 111R, it doesn't come close.

Love the Cooper S, had one for a month as a courtesy car, cracking little thing. The supercharger whine is addictive!

Very nice, it looks similar to Ruby red which is what I have.
It could go two ways with your wife, she could love it and pester you to drive it, or she could hate it and never talk to you again.
Rock and a hard place!
Best of luck, enjoy it.

I love the colours, if it were mind I'd definitely name it Rhubarb and Custard biggrin
I've just bought an Ardent Red Elise, so I'm naming it Ferrari wannabe, having come from my "Lotus Wannabe" smart roadster!

Thanks Guys & Girls...

PhillyGumbo, remember seeing your car when I first signed up thinking it was a lovely colour, and then totally forgetting about it before I found this one.

The wife has got over it, and know begrudgingly agrees its a nice car. They always come around in the end!

Oh Yeah, I will be joining one of the Hoons no doubt, But a need to get some 'learning miles' under my belt first. But come next summer and after a few Walshy days, watch out people, I'll be leading from the fron!!
