Just had an MOT which advised that need to replace the rears in a couple of months. What a great excuse to replace the Potenzas with something else. I was thinking the Yoko Advans / AD07's.

Has anyone ever changed the 175/55/R16 fronts for anything a little wider to reduce the factory induced understeer? Say 195/50?

sure - loads of people have...they just fit the Exige wheels and 195 fronts...then you can have a set for road and track...theres often used sets of wheels for sale on here or SELOC...in fact I just sold a set on there !

Yes.. no reason why not to do it.

If you choose to run semi slickss on them tho, on track the extra grip from the tyres may start to overwhelm the standard suspension set up.

This is where upgrade-itis starts!

You can put 195s on the standard wheels if you want to, they fall within the tyre manufactures' recommended rim widths for the 195 tyres that I've looked at.

Correct... it's not optimal and you will lose some steering feel/delicacy (regardless of rim width, the wider tyres will do that) but it's still fine smile
