My money is on Nightfall Blue. I thought black was hard to keep clean and shiny until i bought my Sport Racer. Its a bloody nightmare, it even gets dirty sitting in the garage.

  • and no i want be selling it soon before you ask LivinLaVidaLotus.smile

Any dark colour would be a nightmare to keep looking good. Our A3 is 'Denim Blue' but we've only got to drive it a few hundred yards down the lane to our house and it needs a clean again. If its wet it get spattered with mud, in the dry it gets covered in dust.
I had a metallic red ZT (a sort of metallic maroon) that looked great when freshly washed and waxed - fine until I drove it down the road.
My grey X-type never seemed to show the dirt too badly and my Elise is new Aluminium (silver) which is great (although it always looks best clean and shiney).

I've had cars in Red, Beige (don't ask...), Charcoal Grey, White, Silver and Blue and none of them were any easier to keep clean than the others. It did annoy me that one trip to Spa in a bit of rain was enough to render mine filthy though.

340R must be the hardest Lotus to clean........ Elise Mica Blue 135R - painting the slats might look good but fiddly to clean as are the OZ alloys frown

Yellow doesn't show up dust quite as much from what I've seen.

if you are really that bothered then get the car coated by www.gtechniq.com - the same stuff as they use on planes and yachts etc ...I had my Elise done, and it really made a good difference, kept it clean looking for longer etc. I had my Vantage done also, over a year ago, and just a quick wash and dry and it looks freshly waxed and polished smile

I will have all my cars done in future - its the first coating Ive tried that actually works smile

my dark grey Lotus doesnt show dirt too badly. My daily shed is a black x-type though and that gets dirty just parked on the drive. Its a real shame as it looks superb when its clean.

Definitely Black! Looks so good when clean but shows all the dust!!!

Had a Titanium S1 which was great it always looked clean, plus the MMC discs hardly created any dust so the wheels where always clean.

I always thought that Chrome Orange was great for hiding the dirt, but boy did it look amazing when you cleaned it, realising that it was actually filthy before! So maybe this could be put at the other end of the scale as one of the easiest colours biggrin Silver isn't bad either!

ive always thought any silver/grey type colour was best at hiding general dirt ...one tip ive found though is never just have bare alloy wheels with lots of spokes...buggers to clean !!

Sarah has matt black 5 spokes on the Sagaris...a doddle to clean, just a quick wipe with a wet sponge ...I had my previous 2 cars done like this and most recently had the Vantage wheels done in a dark grey ...it really does make them easier to clean, and keep looking clean smile

yes

In the summer it is horrendous. I think the colour must attract the little feckers!
