After having the damn resistor pack go and be replaced (luckily my warranty covered it) I am wondering if there is any point trying to cover the point where water gets in with a chamois etc. when washing it, thereby stopping it happening again or at least prolonging the life. I almost never drive in the rain so washing is the only way water gets in there. Anyone know where exactly the resistor pack sits (in relation to the windscreen) and so where the water that messes it up would enter from? There is the gap between the bottom of the windscreen and the clam, or perhaps the radiator grilles? I wouldn't bother if it wasn't so stupidly expensive to have it fixed. 111R by the way. thumbup

If it's been replaced then you should be fine. The issue was the fact that it sat in an open-topped box with no drain holes. The new ones are located differently, and I believe the dealers now tap drain holes in the box also.

Depends when it was replaced if it got the new one though (as AFAIK they were in short supply for quite a time), but they should have drilled the drain holes anyway, so you should be okay.

As I understand it Lotus started putting the resistor pack in a different place at some point (2006?). Mine is 2004 though, so I don't know if they would have put it back in the same place. I did get them to drill the holes, just thinking belt & braces - maybe it's pointless...

Revised ones only started being fitted (as a replacement) middle of this year. If replaced recently, you should be fine.
