Problems with Cobra 8186 Alarm on S2 Elise...
Discussion
Hi all,
Just got myself a 2003 111s so am new to these forums, despite having been reading all the posts for a few weeks to learn what I can
Having problems with my alarm (Cobra 8186). Basically I press the larger of the two buttons to activate the central locking and activate the alarm. Several seconds later the alarm makes the continual warning beep, which in the manual says is due to one of the doors/boot not being closed properly. I've obviously checked these and had a look at the sensors, but it does it every time. Are there any more sensors which I'm not aware of? Or anything else which could cause the warning beep to be triggered?
I read on an old post somewhere that the interior light can cause problems, but I didn't fully understand how or why.
Any advice off people would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Kaboose

Thanks, for your quick replies!
I tried manually depressing the sensor in the boot, and the one in each door, but it didn't help
That's why I was asking if there are more sensors, I read that there is one in the front access panel, but I guess that one is pretty difficult to get to.
I downloaded the manual off the internet, and I thought the flashing lights were used to tell you what had caused the alarm to go off if it had been triggered. When I look at the light, it seems to flash reguarly, as if it's just letting you know it's been armed.

Check the interior light...have it set so it comes on when the doors are open...that way you will know if it is one of those. The other thing is take the inspection panel off and check the plug connection on that sensor. They have a way of coming loose. We see a few like this.
Hope this helps...
