Hello all,

Elise S2 2004 rover engine. The battery light came on so i assumed a bad alternator. This was replaced with a new unit, however the battery light is still on. I've checked voltage across the alternator and it only shows 0.5v so it's not charging. It is a brand new unit and came with a test certificate so it must be some other problem. Battery tested at motorists store and all ok. Any ideas? I'm totally out of them!

just cause it's new does not mean it works...

that said, check the alt fuse - it's a BIG 80A MAXI fues in the engine bay....
if that's OK, check continutity from that to the alt itself and the starter.

The problem was the 80A fuse. It was checked and ok before i replaced the alternator, but i must have blown it when i was replacing the alternator (forgot to take the battery out ) :wall
