Exige or Elise
Discussion
Hi All,
I'm starting to look for a "new" car to replace my 8 year old SLK (which I love to bits, but fancy a change).
I only drive convertibles (since '94 I've had an MR2 t-bar, Alfa Spider, MR2 Roadster, SLK) and the next car has to be a convertible, at least of sorts.
Apart from a Boxster nothing else (at all) floats my boat except the Elise, and tbh the Elise wins hands down - they just look awesome.
The thing is that I like the Exige even more
- this one for example is absolutely perfect (although sold) and *just* within budget and has the all important aircon...
My question is this: I know that the roof panels in the S2 are removeable, but it sounds a bit fiddly (even more fiddly than the Elise) and I imagine the roof panels need to be left behind. Is this the case? Are they a true 'targa top'? Or should I just give up on the idea and get an Elise? Or should I just give up on the idea of having a convertible and get an Exige and be done with it?
Advice appreciated.

Hard top won't fit in boot, you'll have to leave it at home. Think there is a way to get a soft top for the exige but the s/c elise is a mighty fine car that ticks your boxes better maybe?

Cheers, Andy. It all sounds so logical until I see that red roofless Exige - it looks fan-bloody-tastic, the covered back end really does it for me. I think the way forwards might be the soft top idea.http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/xforums/topic.asp?h=0...

If it floats your boat, go for it.
