What exhaust should i put on my NA Exige??

Had the car delivered today and it looks superb but sounds very disappointing especially when the dealer drove my Sport Racer away with its Quicksilver on.

Tempted to put a Quicksilver on the Exige unless others recommend otherwise.

If you like the quicksilver, get another. Or, even better, get the dealer to take your old one off the 111R and swap it with the std exhaust on the Exige. Failing that, yes, you are right, its been done to death and *you* should know better!!!

/larini, 2Bular etc etc

i know i should know better Sir.smile

I bought the car from Dream Machines in Sussex hence having it delivered and as i live in Liverpool i couldnt really ask them to swap them over unless i drove all the way down there which i had no intention of doing.

Someone somewhere told me not to bother with a Larini on a Toyota engined car, was that good advice ?? What do you have on yours?

I've got a Larini SE. And, if I'm honest, it doesn't sound like the Larini I had on an Elise S loaner frown For me it's "muffled" until you hit 6.5K+. The loaner I had sounded more raw. I think it depends of whether or not you want to track the car. If you do then a "muffled" exhaust is probably the way to go. But, I think this is the nature of the engine and manifold. TH has a Larini manifold, cat and exhaust and it screams.

What's the point? You'll just sell it in a couple of weeks.

Im not sure if mine has the soft top conversion or not. The inside is exactly the same as the Elises i have had in terms of allen bolts etc. Is yours like this or does it sound like mine has been converted??

If yours has been converted it will have the grommets where the centre rails would clip in. Pics on this thread...

I was reading one of your old posts on exhuasts and seen that you had recommended that exhaust to someone else.

Not had a chance to take any pics yet as i cant find my camera however
It is Storm Titanium with Sport Pack and Air Con. Both the interior and exterior are immaculate. It looks very, very nice. I wasnt sure about the colour before i bought it (never went to see car first - mad i know)but am quite pleased with it.

Im going to phone CN today and get it booked in for an exhaust and ask them to do a quick check over of it for peace of mind although apart from a squeak from the back wheel when moving from a standstill it drives and feels fine. Also the red light doesnt come on at 6250 revs although the cam does change over so i suppose that is just the LED on the dash.

All in all, i am well happy with it and with the service i got from Dream Machines. I doubt the will have a customer as difficult as me again for a while.

Very nice. I will need to sell my toddlers on Ebay, bi the Mrs and get a new career before i buy one of those.

Decided on a quicksilver as the dealer told me that there isnt much difference between the standard exhaust and a stage one. A few other people have also said something similar.

Yep, it's a subtle upgrade.

That's just ridiculous.

QUITE pleased with it? WTF?

How long will you keep this one? I'm pretty sure you said you were done with this madness when you bought the SR.

If you stopped fking around changing cars you'd surely have a much nicer car by now? The amount you must have lost this year could have put you in something truly exotic.

Yes you can, but they cost a fortune for what they are. Its about £30-40 for the net and then 2hrs labour to fit.

Or...

net on ebay

If the fixing are already there and you're just missing the net.
