Ok,

Obviously like me you want to drive it first but who's seriously thinking of buying one then?

I'll start off, if it's as pretty as I think it is from the pictures in true life and it goes’ and handle’s well then we are,

Certainly not new - I'd never buy any car new. Maybe I'll be helping to prop up second hand values in five years' time though.

I would certainly consider a used one in a years time, obviously dependant on a test drive and build quality/problem resolutions, based upon its' looks alone.

It certianly "blows my skirt up" more than its' target competition, the Cayman.

Yee haa!

I am off to see it at the motor show in under 2 hours time not that I am counting redface)
It it ticked the boxes after seeing it in the flesh I was going to put a deposit down, with the understanding that I could withdraw it if the test drive didn't live up to expectations. However my plans for moving to Canada have been accelerated to next March so now it isn't an option redface(

I am taking my video camera & hopefully I will be allowed to film it & maybe post the film on you-tube if anyone would be interested.

I will be getting one, Its just growing on me smile Even like the name .Going to the Show next Friday. I will be changing my daily drive in 18months so will make the call nearer that time. idea is a 2nd 3rd Audi BMW for work and the Evora for WE etc bounce

I don,t know about you but the fact its a 2+2 gets straight through the where will the kids sit etc with the doris, hope to have a family soon , guest collections etc. thought it would be a negative for the Brand but it seems to set the Evora out from anything out there. Purists might disagree but hasn,t lotus always been at the forefront of motorsort technology and ideas..... I,m in marketing and the hardest thing to do is please all the people all the time.

I think its a winner, great looks full of fresh ideas, individual and i can see myself driving one in the not too distant future. thumbup

I'd be interested in one, but maybe not for a year or two after they come out. Just depends on how it goes and how good a finance deal Lotus put together.

I'd better get a job before I think about buying a new car. But if I was in the market for a sports car that you could occasionally get someone in the back, then its a bit more individual than a 911.

At the risk of being a bit pedantic tho Boggy. Whats the betting you've changed your mind by 8pm tonight smile

Providing it proves reliable and drives well, I think it'll be deffo my next car in 2010.

Depending on the practicality of the rear seats I will certainly give it some thought when I come to change, as my next everyday car will have to be more practical (think sprogs).
At present apart from a 911 i'm struggling to see its main rivals.

flipin eck, just read this back and I don't think I have ever fitted into someones target market so well!

Depends on:

1. Viewing and driving the car, and how it stacks up for me against the GT-R, M3, 997 C2/4 (s/h)...
2. My criteria / wants for next car around late 2009
3. Share price late 2009

Good luck to them though.

I think it looks the business and will no doubt be very tempted when the second hand values start to develop in a couple of years (I would never but a new car).

Really looking forward to seeing one in the flesh and with better wheels than the ones on the show car.

I think the 6 spoke example seen in EVO looked pretty good:

With the usual caveats of not having driven it, not knowing the performance/handling, not even seen it in the flesh and not being able to a)afford the price and b) afford the depreciation if I could afford the price - I would be extremely interested.

It'll be a long way off and I predict that as soon as I get out my roll of grubby twenties to press into the hands of the soon to be ex-owner my head will be turned by a new Esprit and I will be forced to dress as a lady and prostitute myself to keep climbing the ladder.

No doubt I'll be burned alive by the purists, but I will be waiting for a soft-top variant and possibly a flappy-paddle gearbox, though it would have to be the DSG double-clutch type as I'm really not a fan of the torque converter; had one on a 911 Tiptronic and hated it.

At the risk of being a bit pedantic, that's not the correct use of the word pedantic. I think "cynical" or "sceptical" would be better.

Do you like me and want to be my friend now?
