hi everyone

Just been for a spin on the lengendary A377 exeter to barnstaple road and then onto billy budds at croyde. However i have noticed a high pitch noise around the 3000 rpm mark above 3500. no noise below 2500. no noise but if i take the foot off the accerator at 4000. rpm when it gets to about 3200.00 a quite intrusive high pitch squeal starts.(if i put the clutch in(to slow down) at 4000.rpm-no noise. The car seems to be running perfectly.

Any suggestions/advice would be very much appreciated.

Alternator belt possibly.... but no idea why it'd just happen between those revs... they normally squeal at tickover and get sorted out under load

Hi, Have the same ssue with mne too.
I need to take mine back to my dealr who recently fixed an issue with the syncro on the gearbox! This was an engine out job.
Since its been back mines been making the same noise I've noticed the rear under tray hasn't been put back straight and is possibly rubbing on the exhaust!
Will let you know when i've got mine looked at!

Funny someone should mention Croyde - I'm off down there next w/e from London and was wondering what was the best route in the Elise? - Did it last week in the normal motor on the M5 / A39 / A361 but was a bit tedious - I take it the 377 is good then??

quickest route from london I guess is m4,m5,get off m5 jct 27 then onto A361 then A39 but you could stay on the m5 until jct 30 then aim for exter city centre then onto A377 for 40 odd miles of sheer heaven.....best road ive ever drivern on(crediton is the only bad bit)- i live in barnstaple so i am forever going on the A377..any excuse im there.

have a good journey down and enjoy!!
