Just back from the WOMAD festival in Wiltshire, cruised down there in my S2 111S at leisurely but not slow pace on Thursday and then back up this morning (with the top off all the way) and noticed record breaking (for me) fuel consumption. Currently got 267 miles on trip comp and still got over 1 of the 6 bars left on the gauge. What's most that anyone has got out of a tank?

Used to do a run from my house to the in-laws _ without any heavy braking and motorway driving at 60mph, just over 300 in a 111s and 289 in the exige s on the same run.

Managed 300 miles out of 30 litres once driving from Swindon to Scotland, so if I'd run it to empty should have been around 350-400 miles. Spent most the whole time cruising around 70-80mph, but got stuck for an hour in pretty heavy traffic near Liverpool which didn't help.

once managed 298 miles to a tank in my sport 160. 2 people in the car, motorway driving. I'd forgotten to look at the gauge then saw it said refill and we had done 298 !!! luckily there was a petrol station close at hand....

dont think I will ever break that record.

Did a weeks trip from Wiltshire to Scotland around the coast roads. 1600 miles at an average of 39.9 mpg.

It's quite risky to do that as the gauge is not precise as I found out when I ran out of petrol just 25 miles after refill. Consequently you need to drive some longer distance to calculate the consumption reasonably accurately.

200? Jesus, I wang mine every day and usually squeeze 235 ish, I did a long journey yesterday and the light came on this morning at 253, best ever was 280 iirc. Normally achieving 29-31 ish mpg but at £45 quid to fill up it's certainly no K series.....

Normally get about 210 from 6 gallons out of a 160 tuned S2 K series, about 35mpg. Best I ever managed was 45mpg going down to Goodwood.

Last tank full I tried keeping to 70 on the motorway and being careful nothing much over 3000rpm as an experiment. I commute to work from Newbury to Cirencester each day with a school drop off each day. So each day 20 miles of A/B roads, 4 miles of town trundling and 50 miles of M4/ dual carraigeway and the odd traffic jam. I got 329 miles from the tank (roof off) and was not yet down "refill" Based on the miles and litres from the refill I got a shade over 46 mpg I reckon I could have seen 360+ from the tank! With more "sprited" driving I usually see between 38 and 41 MPG depending on the season!
My lif sharer who drives a Diesel is upset as he get 45mpg!

As an experiment I decided to see what the best economy I could get was. Found a large truck on the motorway doing about 50mph and stuck in its slipstream - averaged 48mpg. biggrin
