HELP: Elise Door broken off lock
Discussion
Hi guys
Really weird thing, I wonder if anyone can help me figure it out. I left my ELise on the street for a while and today I have discovered, with the help of a passenger, that my passenger door has broken off the locking mechanism.
There are no signs of vandalism on the outside body nor on the roof, but open the door, and it looks as though a screw driver has been in the screws of the lock, and even slipped off a screw to scratch the GRP inside the door. The big "weld" that links the door to the locking mechanism is broken, so the door can move relative to the lock.
There was nothing in the car to steal, there is no sign of damage to anything, and the car didn't look as if it had moved, so I haven't got a clue what happened.
Any ideas? Is this a common thing on Elises (weld to break)?
Thanks!
