I'm going to Abbeville on Saturday for the LOT session. Anyone know whether it's sensible to head back the same evening? It's certainly cheaper but I'm just wondering if I'm going to be too knackered and/or there's fun to be had by staying over on Saturday night. What's the form? thanks in adv.

Making it back to the chunnel for a 7pm crossing is easy, it's only an hour away!

Check on LOT or SELOC to see if there are any socials taking place.

I'm going in October, we have a bit of a social the night before near the tunnel, then a leisurely drive to the circuit on Saturday morning smile

Done it a few times, not normally a problem at all especially if you've got some redbull to hand. I drive back to Bournemouth after that too...so quite a journey.

It's a late one but always nice to get home smile

Usually go with 2-3 mates and we have always stayed over. Once in St Omer and last time we drove to Le Touquet. Both good places to go out for a nice meal and a few beers if there are a few of you and the back roads to get you there are really good as well.

I guess there are people staying at the Relais... the motel by the circuit as LOT are also at Abbeville Sunday.

I'm a bit busy this weekend so I'll be doing the round trip on Sunday

You've still lost me...

What do you mean, 'surely some people live farther down Britain than the tunnel entrance/exit?'

Mark, you said "it's only an hour away". It is IF you live in Folkestone/Dover but most people need a few hours to get there 1st.

I think Mark is referring to the return journey - i.e. the circuit is only an hour away from the tunnel on the other side - thus finish track day before 6, drive to chunnel entrance and catch 7pm back to UK.

Thank you Minidiva, the OP was referring to his return journey and whether he needed to stay over night, I just said the tunnel is an hour away.

I just assumed that most people will be able to do their own calculations of travel time from Folkestone to their home, wherever that may be.
