My Elise S is shortly due its first annual service. Bell & Colvill is my nearest main dealer, and I've had good experiences buying from them in the past, but I'm aware their servicing prices can be a little, erm , steep.

Any recommendations for a good value and good quality alternative not too far from Surrey/West London?

Thanks!

I took my S to Lipscombe Lotus near Maidstone a few weeks back. They charge about £225 for an A service on a Yota car. I acually got it for £195 as I was misquoted on the phone.

Interestingly, they only post prices for either 111s (K-series) or R (Yota) and nothing for the S...

I was very happy with them

If B&C are a little steep for you (and I sympathise, they do a fine job but just a bit beyond my means), then try Fibreglass Services in Arundel - it's not too far to go from Surrey, down the A24 and then a bit of the A27. Miles is an acquired taste (grumpy, straight-talking but get past that and he's fine and frequently hilarious) but he knows his stuff and will charge £115 for an A service. Not only that but you'll get a stamp in the book too.

Lipscombe again. Very good service, nothing but praise for them.

Thanks for the recommendations.

I've used Miles at Fibreglass Services before when I had an Esprit. Great service and as you say a very interesting chap biglaugh

I think I'll give Lakeside a go this time as they're only a few miles from home so very convenient.

Cheers.

Back on Track in Guildford.. smile

Edit.. scrub that, just re-read - you need a franchised place.. Must read more thoroughly before posting.. redface

Lakeside is well worth a visit and get my thumbs up.

As long as the service fulfills all the manufacturer's requirements, there is no need to get the service done at a franchised dealer/service agent, though for many, the (vague) feeling of security is important and a dealer stamp often helps with resales on newer cars.
