I need to change the steering rack on my S1. Not interested in a quickrack or the nitron one. Just want a decent like for like of the original. Anyone used a supplier they are happy with?

http://www.titan.uk.net/steering.php

OEM suppliers to Lotus and a superb company to deal with.
They can supply a rack as original, a quick rack (the option I went for and it really is superb - quick without being silly) or can supply all the parts to refurbish your own rack.
Helpful, knowledgeable and cheaper than anyone else.

How quicker is the quick one?

Thanks for that. A lot of roads do seem to lead to Titan so I gave them a buzz.

(Standard rack 2 3/4 turns lock to lock. Titan's quick rack is 2 1/2 turns)

Thanks again

14% quicker to be exact! Titan informed me that the Elise was originally designed with the quick rack but the sales boys wanted it to be a bit softer for the general public.
Here's a link to my post about the fitting procedure. Its a fairly basic description but the procedure is simple enough.

Standard rack is 2.75 lock to lock.

I have a quick rack from Titan motorsport. They have 2 available, one is 2.5 turns and the other is 2.25 turns. I have a 2.25 on mine and it feels so much better than the standard rack. Took a little getting us to but its not as crazy as you would think....
