Last year I had a fault with the idle raising to circa 2k. Under warranty I had a new throttle body fitted that fixed the problem.
12 months latter (out of warranty ) same problem again. This time however it would take about 30 - 45 mins to develop and eventually the car went into limp home mode. It looked like the potentiometer on the throttle and I had it reset. This did not fix it and after a few calls to Lotus my garage identified that I needed a ECU flash to a newer version. This has now solved the problem.

Apparently my late 2005 car was 3 s/w versions behind and a lot of dealers are replacing the throttle bodies, which will not ultimately solve the problem and not just updating the ECU software which will.

Many thanks to Dave and Coz at Sportomotive who kept me on the road and solved the problem.

Car is a S2 111R Sport Racer late 2005

Hope this helps.
