I have a large stone chip in my widscreen. can someone tell me if the S2 Lotus Exige windscreen is the same as S2 Elise windscreen?

The reason i ask is that the windscreen replacement firm i rang said that the Exige wasnt listed but the Elise S2(2001 to present) was?

Only guessing but I'd say all S2's are the same. Can't see Lotus having variations for Elise/exige

The only thing I can recommend here is that if they have to check the books... they don't know what they are doing and probably haven't done one before.

I'd have a good chat with a local specialist (or even main dealer) as elise/exige screens are a bit more fiddly than your average barge. If you are going thru insurance (and they want you to use a specific supplier), then have the chat to the specialist first, get them to explain some of the issues with you, then communicate this to the insurance co when you speak to them.

I'd 2nd that, been quite a few people who have ended up with some damage done to clams and fixings when the person carrying out the replacement didn't know what they were doing.

Just one thing to add to this. Elise Parts (and maybe others) do a heated front screen that is no more expensive than the OEM one. Maybe worth seeing if you can organise one as the replacment.
