Hi,

Got a small pin prick in the radiator of me elise. Tiny spray coming out under pressure no bigger that a pin prick. Has anyone used Radweld before? If so how do i use it and are there any concerns.

Also got a small clanging noise from around the front of the car sounds like to ball bearing banging together the sound increase's with speed but can't be heard at all below 20mph. Is this a wheel bearing? Oh the pain is this gonna cost me another wad of cash i haven't got. Any advice welcomed cheers

rad, worth a try but don't hold you breath... Holts stuff seems to be the best, your only issue is how to get it into the read int he first place...

other problem sounds like a wheel bearing, no big deal....

Happy days.

Took the gamble threw in the radweld and no more leak. Fingers crossed it holds for the next thousand years!!!!

Investigate the banging node lose brake pad was vibrating on a pitted orginal break disk. Secured the brake pad and cleaned up the discs no more banging sound. Fingers crossed thats the end of that.

I now await the next minor heart attack but in the mean time i think i'll pop out take the roof off and go for a spin, lifes to short!!!!!!!!!!!

AAARRRGGHHH!!!! Sorry, too late now but only just saw this post.

IMHO radweld is the source of all evil. It completely destroyed the radiator and heater matrix in my Jeep and cost me nearly £2K to get fixed. All radweld does is coagulate and gum up the whole damn system.

If it was me I'd get it repaired properly asap and make sure the whole system is properly flushed to get the crap out.

Christ!!

I wouldn't dream of putting radweld of any make in my coolant! The Elise needs good cooling and you really don't want anything to reduce the efficiency. Radweld is pretty indiscriminate about what it bonds too I though.

Just my opinion....

I used Radweld in my series 1 and it has been good for 4 years. Leak has just reappeared but am going down the same route again!

Radweld is definitely not the way to go - whatother waterways could it block? K series engines are totally reliant on efficient flow of coolant. Cheap, quick fix maybe, but I would never contemplate it

I'm reliably informed that a raw egg introduced into the coolant system reaps similar dividends wink
