Sorry to do another "either/or", but I can't afford Nitrons etc.

Which would you go for, one new Koni or a complete set of Gaz (probably Golds?)?

Currently have original Konis on my S1, which has done 47K miles.

Thanks in advance.

How much does a full set of S2 Bilsteins + whatever is needed to fit them cost?

Bilsteins via Bell and Colville - £450.
I think they are still taking orders on the Seloc group buy.
I wouldn't bother with the Konis again.

What are the general opinions of GAZ GOLDS?? they seem pretty cheap: http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?a=i&p=GAZGGA...

£529 for a full kit? plus maybe £200 for fitting? seems a bargain to me!!!

Some people say they are not mono-tube and therefore create a lot of un-sprung weight.. this true??

Sorry if im thread hi-jacking!

I've just had Gaz Gold's fitted a couple of days ago. I haven't had a chance to fiddle with the damping at the moment, which I need to do as the rear us under damped (on just 5 up from full soft with 450lb rear springs)). But even so they were fantastic on fast bends on the way home from Back On Track. I'll let you know how I get on after my North Weald activity day tomorrow, where I can really push the car and set up the damping properly.
The bilstiens are excellent for the road (that's what I had before), but if you are thinking of putting semi slicks on the car the bilsteins will not have stiff enough springs. You'll hit the bump stops on track and the tyres will rub on the wheel arches. Mine rubbed so badly a wheel locked up at Brands!
Also Gaz customer service is second to none.

Thought they might be, have to say i am seriously considering them over the S2 Billies. Similar money but with the ability to adjust, i will be doing mainly fast road but fancy the odd track day over the next year.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I've been convinced to go for the Gaz ones.

Any issues with materials though, corrosion etc? There was a photo on one of the forums showing them looking pretty corroded (but then the rest of the suspension in the photo did look worse), but I don't think they were Golds?

Too right. I have Protechs and cant rate them highly enough. Been fitted now for a year and a half, I do track days too and they have been great. Would easily buy them again and a pleasure to deal with the company.
