I am selling my Lotus Elise and although the car is in good enough condition there are quite a few stone chips on the front of the car. Would i be better buying some touch up paint and filling them in or just leaving them? I wouldn't be trying to deceive anyone, just wanting to know what would be best for selling?

Yeah you can get touch up bottles from eliseparts.com

They arnt that cheap though, especially when you knock them over all over the drive like I did!!

It depends how far you wanna take it doesnt it. Most buyers will expect stone chips, so just touching them in might be the best bet..

If you want to make it look mint/showroom condition you could perhaps get the front sprayed.. overkill really though..

I guess it depends on how well the touching up goes, often the chips can look worse after touching up in my opinion. Unless you get a pretty good finish it is probably better just leaving them.

If you do decide to do them I would recommend using a cocktail stick to apply the paint rather than the clumsy brushes you get. I would also lightly rub down the paint once it is dry, then apply a clear lacquer, then very lightly try and rub down till flat and then polish the hell out of it. In my experience you can get a fairly decent finish but it will never be perfect and takes a bit of time.

Agreed - recently I hit the go pedal too hard in a gravel strewn carpark, whilst in reverse and took lumps out of the lower front wing, just behind the front mudflap. My hamfisted attempts to apply Tit/Silver look really crap:-(

My local bodyshop quoted me £250 to do my front end when the stone chips get bad..

So when they do, I might just do that rather than fking about
